These two came to the orphanage when Vivian Rose was only a few days old. She was deathly ill with some kind of ilness, one that Crispin had
contracted as well, but was not nearly so critical with it. The parents had been killed. They were discovered in a drifted spacecraft, a personal vehicle.  According to the log, they were traveling to get help for their two children, who had contracted some kind of disease, and it was one that the healers could not figure out. They came from a rather primitive planet, a pocket of Thunderians who drifted there from the Thunderian Exodus, and had neither the knowledge not the technology that the Thunderians have on the civilized planets.From what the orphanage could tell, they were struck by sometrhing in space, an asteroid or similar, breaching the cockpit area and killing the parents. The two children, safely in the back, were injured but not badly so. The healders at the orphanage tended them and cured the illness (a version of a plague that ravaged Thunderian centuries ago, but which has had a solid cure for now for two centuries).They were at the orphanage for about a year.
